I love that Angela—our comfort must be secondary to the comfort of the students.

06:21:27
I’m so conflict avoidant and it’s super hard to do it!

I go through my roster in advance and if I don’t know how to pronounce the name, I will look up how to pronounce it on google and practice it a few times and at least try it, first, then ask if they’d like to correct me.

06:49:03
Activities on names to start the class can be very powerful. When everyone gets to say what their name is, where it comes from, how they feel about it, etc. it encourages everyone to relate the value in names. And relational thinking helps builds community :)

A quick Flipgrid video assignment!

06:52:33
Or studio intro discussion:)

06:52:35
I’ve used Flipgrid for such an introduction assignment

06:53:13
VoiceThread, FlipGrid, and Canvas Studio are great for this as well.

The entire schedule of events today was really helpful. The panel with students earlier should happen more
