Do we need to migrate to that new Zoom URL? What if we try to keep/use the old URL?

You can also enable or disable the chime once your meeting has started.

Students can create a free Zoom account like everyone in the world, they just can’t create a Pro account through MiraCosta.

Will you be able to show us what students see at that Zoom link in Canvas? Because ‘student view’ just keeps logging me in as normal teacher account there.

I got "Warning, User does not Exist" when I clicked on Zoom in my Canvas class. How do I fix that so that my personal email is not dominant? Go to Account?

Regarding polling: I found that polling questions were transferred over with my meetings when the migration happened.

I didn’t need to do anything.

Related to the office hour question: if I want my office hours to be open to multiple class sections, can I schedule meetings on both sections' Canvas sites and everyone will be able to get in?

That happened to mine too, but I cant see them through Canvas!

I prefer no passcode, students struggle with it. Waiting room works well.

I thought the Canvas integration meant that the passcode would be included in the Zoom link shared through Canvas.

Patricia, yes in order for students to see your class you need to publish it. Otherwise you can send an email with a link to zoom outside of canvas.

Lori, you can either download the Zoom meetings and post them from your computer, you could also link them with a url

Darlene, you would create your zoom meetings within zoom.com not through Canvas

Angela, I do not know whether you can have one Zoom meeting available via the Zoom LTI across multiple courses in Canvas. If not, you’d need to set up the meeting and share the link directly within Canvas rather than relying on students to use the Zoom integration to get to it.

Rhonda this would be a zoom meeting that you would schedule within zoom not within a specific class.

It won't let you. You can still have a zoom ,link for all for office hours, but you cannot associate it to two classes.

Rosa, Zoom in general is improving in its security and how to handle unwanted visitors, but this integration doesn’t really have much impact on that, in my opinion.

Zoombombing is happening, but rarely.

@Jilll. Yup, saving as MP4 is how I workaround any recordings I need from zoom.

The main way that Zoombombing incidents seem to occur, at least at MiraCosta, is when students share the access information with outsiders.

When you import a meeting from the MiraCosta-edu zoom, it seems to maintain the settings you setup there like for waiting room.
