I’ve been using captions in the Canvas studio now.

It’s difficult to answer!

Knowing that everyone is coming from different places of their education journey, I create projects that allow for a lot of questions, so we can as a class break down

I give detailed individual feedback to their assignments.

The first homework assignment revolves around everyone trying to find where they fit in psychology - what their salient group has contributed to psychology

I try to show my enthusiasm in my voice when I record my short lecture segments. Not sure if it will work though!

I've been doing a combination of methods....lecture short lecture videos, weekly announcements, discussion topics, etc...

I like to use the Khan Academy videos and short lectures.

I teach economics so love to show news videos and radio clips in addition to my recorded lectures

I get self conscious using videos. Im no Chris Hemsworth but need to get over that

I teach art history and try to include relevant pieces of music.

I've started using audio feedback in Canvas and love it

get back feedback as quick as possible

I leave text comments in the Speed Grader area as well as rubrics.

I love audio feedback, the students love it too and get a lot of great results

I like the idea of audio feedback!

I look at that nifty site in MCC that breaks down the numbers in race, gender, age etc

I give points for coming to office hours. This way I’m hoping that more students will come and that might allow me to evaluate how all are doing.

I take a survey at the beginning of the semester to try and find out about my students. I check in throughout the semester to find out how everything is going

Now that we are online - I worry about equity in the availability of technology to be successful or being able to access the course more than ever before

I also made a Suggestion Box Discussion so students can give me feedback.

When we had in-persons classes… Peer observations focusing on faculty-student interactions w/ regard to race, gender, etc. Help identify unconscious patterns. Possible to do the same now?

The data is based on grades, right? And on who finished the course?

This rubric is great! Very helpful tips.

I made a short video of myself welcoming the students to the class. It’s the first thing they have to watch. I’m also planning to post such very short personal videos where I show my face every now and then throughout the course. I hope this will make things more personal and create a connection…

How much time do they have to complete this assignment?

Your class should be a prerequisite for all other classes! That would be very helpful :)
