Can we review how to make the url link pop up in a new tab so we don’t have to hit the back button on the browser to get back to Canvas?

When you add a link to an image.

First, when you are in the RCE (Rich Content Editor) of the page of content you are working on, you can highlight the link and then press Ctrl + K on your keyboard. This will display an "Insert link" box with a drop-down list next to the "Target" field. Instead of "None", select "New window", and then click the "Ok" button.

Yes, the default on external links are now new window in anvas

The default for images to link is none. The default for text linked is new tab.

Internal to Canvas pages still open on top -- so if you want a Canvas domain page to open in a new window, you need to use that extra step.

Is there a course builder feature in Canvas? This feature allows us to create categories/ build the course using place holders and these can then be populated later with content. I believe something like other LMS such as D2L etc.

Also can the home page greeting be personlised to show the individual student's first or last name (according to how we set the greeting) when a student logs in instead of the general 'hello everyone'? Just curious about this feature.

Is there any way to see what students see on the dashboard -- before they enter the course? I've found that students sometimes don't even click the course card, since there apparently is a 'to-do' list on the dashboard itself, and they just do what's listed there and miss all of the course content ...

Student view only shows inside the course, though. Not the dashboard.
