For the demonstrating financial aid, are we able to use the parent (family income) who isn't the one who claims us on taxes in order to meet this requirement?

I believe that JKCF takes into account you and your parents income to calculate financial need if you are over 24 or are an emancipated minor contact scholarships@jkcf.org for further information on your specific question

The activities section is confusing me

Also, I think you need to use the info from the parent that claims you on their taxes as a dependent but I would contact scholarships@jkcf.org

There are 3 areas to discuss your activities:1. Common App Activities Section2. JKC App Activities Section3. Resume JKC is asking you to submit

I am wondering if I need to do that much work to repeat the same info

I believe that the only thing that matters is the JKC activities section

Common app specific things would be for applying to common app colleges

Did you all fill that common app activities in the past?

I don’t want to risk not having consistent information

Would the recommendation letter be the same with transfer application if I use common app to applying to transfer as well?

An, I first put all the activities I did in my resume and used my resume as a key to write in the same info on the common app and JKC activities section. Does this make sense? I did have a lot of repeating info which is okay.

Would letters of recommendation be attached to the resume portion?

Im on the common app for JKC, there isnt a space for me to list my activities within the JKC app but it does have a statement asking me to fill my activities in the common app of experiences and achievements section

NOW in the JCK only have resume part. the activities and work experiences in the common app.

Risa, make sure that whoever you select to write your letter of recommendation for JKC knows that the letter is for JKC and your common app. The foundation wants to see a letter that really describes who you are. It is best when you tell the professor that JKC wants to see how you performed in the course and who you are as a person which can be a little more detailed than a typical letter of recommendation.

if I am dependent and I didn’t file tax with my parent on 2019 and 2020, but I file tax with my parent on 2021, is that eligible?

About the recommendation letters, I have a mentor at my internship at an animal hospital. She is no professor, but she is still someone who teaches and supervises interns. Can I ask a letter from her?

Does it matter if the faculty member who writes your letter of rec is not actually MY teacher? For example, he teaches at my school, but I know him from another job.

yes, we will make sure to get the recording out to all ptk members through Myriam Moody (our regional coordinator). I believe all PTK members get her emails, right? If not, ask your chapter advisor as they will receive her emails
